Hi Friends,
I am Ashish. Though I am born-n-bought up in Mumbai my roots are from Konkan, in a small little beautiful village called Revandi in Malvan taluka.
My father migrated to Mumbai for work and as a kid I hardly got any opportunities to visit my native place. I first went to Malvan when I was four and I have very hazy memories of those days. Rather, I remember that trip since we have few old black-n-white photographs of me standing in front of our old house, a typical konkani home built with mud walls, small windows and main-door with a huge decorative wooden frame.
I went to Malvan for the second time almost after another 15 years; after completing my diploma or degree; I don't recollect exactly. But one thing I remember for sure that the first time I saw my village as a teenager, I was so impressed to see the natural beauty of my village that I immediately promised myself that I will rebuild the ties with my village that once got lost as it happens in every Chakarmani's (one who migrated to Mumbai from Konkan for work) life. My father who was skeptical whether I would like my village was so excited to see the happiness on my face when we visited our village for the Ganesh festival. And after his retirement he built an independent home (especially for me) near the beach.
Yes, you got it right on the beach side. The location is so perfect for a long vacation and to rejuvenate yourself and come back to Mumbai all charged up to face the new challenges of life. Apart from going on a vacation to Malavn; I have so many other dreams for my village, I want to build my own Beach Resort, I want to grow Alphanso mangoes, I want to export Alphanso world over and to have my own food processing unit in Malvan...... and the list is endless.
Anyways, the purpose of my blog is to make my Village, my Malvan and my Konkan more and more popular by providing information about the wonderful places like untouched beaches, forts, rivers, flora-n-fauna and Malvani cuisine to top it all. That reminds you of Kombdi-Vade and fish curry; isn't it!
So friends keep on visiting my blog to find out more about Konkan; so when you go there (which i am sure you will after visiting my blog)you know what to see and more importantly you don't miss out a chance to visit any Amazing Place just because you never knew about it.
I also request you all to feel free to send me Phtographs, videos or any other content that you may want to share with others through my blog.
YEWA KONKAN AAPLACH AASA!
Happy surfing!
